Brigitte Bardot is photographed smoking a cigarette during a card game on the set of the comedy-adventure film Viva Maria in 1965. Directed by Louis Malle and co-starring Jeanne Moreau, the film was shot in Mexico, where Douglas Kirkland photographed Bardot during production. This movie was the subject of one of two U.S. Supreme Court cases that led to the establishment of the MPAA Ratings Code.
Kirkland, born in Toronto, made his name at Look magazine with his 1961 session with Marilyn Monroe. Available as an estate stamped and numbered print. Please inquire for availability of artist signed lifetime works and additional sizes.
