This portrait was taken at Milton’s studio in 1955 before Milton and Marilyn (the two shareholders) announced the formation of Marilyn Monroe Productions at a private cocktail party in New York City.
This image was restored and then published for the very first time in 1995, appearing on the cover of the first release of The Archives’ book Milton’s Marilyn. It later appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in November of 2010.
