On assignment for the Saturday Evening Post in 1953, Sid Avery photographed Marlon Brando at what Avery recalled was, [Brando's] little shack up in Beverly Glen. Brando's quintessential 1950s decor, replete with bongos and African art, was the perfect setting for one of Avery's best home layouts. He was a very rewarding photographic subject, Avery recalled, extremely relaxed, innovative, and thoroughly enjoyable.
