From the beginning photographer Jerry Schatzberg saw something of himself in Bob Dylan: a driven artist whose basic shyness was misunderstood. This understanding allowed the two to become close friends and collaborate on some of the most treasured images in the Dylan oeuvre, including this one of the enigmatic genius in a sullen state, a cigarette resting in his mouth.

Original Photograph Printed Directly from the Original Negative.
