“When I first started to work with Elton, he was really quite shy in front of the camera. We’d work together and come up with ideas, what would work in the papers and as his star rose– he grew more comfortable with the cameras. His on-stage personal was spectacular, he was a real showman who backed all that up with his unbelievable talent. And that’s what we wanted to show in some of the pictures – Elton as showman. Added to all of this was being able to capture his own, personal surroundings. Elton shopped like a rock-star!” -Terry O’Neill
