"The Grateful Dead were the Fillmore East staff’s favorite band and they played there 27 times. The F.E. was also the only venue on the planet where the Dead used the in-house sound system–a real compliment. It was designed and built by the F.E.’s own sound engineer, John Chester. This is my favorite color picture of Jerry. I was right at the foot of the stage when I took it." -Amalie R. Rothschild
