"I began shooting Joan in 1980 after her first album, Bad Reputation, was released. She was one of the first musicians I was given full access to on tour. I took countless images of her backstage, live and on the road. This shot was taken at the studio of photographer Lynn Goldsmith, who was syndicating my photographs through her photo agency, LGI. The photos were used to promote Joan’s follow-up album, I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.” — Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss
“Mark was shooting around the time that we were going from being a really struggling band to having a little bit more success, and being able to document that was really special. And those photos were great.” — Joan Jett
