In the "Summer of Love" Capitol Records and The Beach Boys publicist Derek Taylor organized a day out at Zuma Beach, California on July 1st, 1967. The shoot was a lighthearted affair with many family members also on hand, including Audree Wilson (mother of Brian, Carl and Dennis, and Mike's aunt). This never before released shot captures a moment as if from their childhood of friends laying in the sand talking about life. Ken Veeder and George Jerman were there from the Capitol photo department, along with a number of other photographers from different magazines. Zuma Beach is about nineteen miles west of Malibu. Some of these outtakes were used for the Wild Honey album cover (December 4th, 1967) and Lei'd in Hawaii (the shelved live album recorded in August of 1967.) Photographers Ken Veeder & George Jerman.
