The last day of the original Tootsies was a cold icy winter's day. My friend was there with her band so I loaded a light and my cameras in to my El Camino and drove downtown to document the moment. Willie and Kris came into the bar as we were set up, so I took a couple of them standing in my set up, then Willie borrowed Leeann's guitar and played, Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground”.The bar has continued as a tourist place under new ownership, but the true soul was gone, but not on that winter's day.
