ABOUT THIS PIECE

Elton John played a benefit for the National Youth Theatre at the Shaw Theatre, London on February 20th, 1972.I took this at soundcheck, Elton let me hang out in his dressing room before the show. He is the ultimate showman and his music is fantastic with Bernie Taupin’s lyrics. I stood behind Nigel Olsson’s drums during the show, my mind disappeared into the music. It was a fantastic evening.
