When George Jones had finished recording his Bradley Barn Sessions album, he called on close friends to come record a song together. It was February 24, 1994, toward the end of Jones’ long storied career of country music hits. Jones reached for a hymn book and landed on “The Great Judgement Morning.” Recorded on the song with him were Connie Smith, Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Marty Stuart, Ricky Skaggs and Travis Tritt. The recording of that song was released in 2013 on Jones’s gospel record titled, “Amazing Grace.”
