“I traveled to L.A. to shoot Tom in his home studio in the Valley for International Musician and Recording World magazine. They wanted photos of Tom with his guitars and by his recording board. I set up a background and lights in his garage for the cover shot, but then I realized that the photo rental store had not included the umbrellas I needed to reflect the light. Tom came in and asked if I was ready. I told him about my dilemma. Then I saw drumheads in the corner of the studio and asked him if I could borrow one to diffuse the light. Tom was more than happy to oblige. Creem magazine ended up using one of the photos for the cover of their October 1985 issue.” — Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss
