In the preparation for the forthcoming Smile album Guy Webster photographed the band reportage style in nature (as he did with the Rolling Stones, the Mamas & the Papas and many others) to evoke that Southern California vibe. In this image he shot them among a grove of palm trees, capturing them at their playful best. This shoot by one of the legendary music photographers of all time does not get the same exposure as some of his others, but his ability to get the musicians to reveal their true nature comes through beautifully.
