Metallica in robes, Damage, Inc. Tour, 1986
ABOUT THIS PIECE
“The first time I photographed Metallica was when they opened for Ozzy Osbourne on Ozzy’s The Ultimate Sin tour. Metallica had just released Master of Puppets. The record was getting a lot of buzz, and the magazines started requesting shots of the band. I was touring with Ozzy, so I introduced myself to the guys in Metallica and asked if it would be cool if I shot them. I told them I would be on and off the tour and that I would bring them the photos to approve. They liked what they saw, and soon enough we began doing shoots. This was one of the last shoots of Cliff with the band before he tragically died in a bus accident later that year.” — Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss
