During January 30-31, 1967, The Beatles filmed the promo for their new single, Strawberry Fields Forever.

The location decided upon was Knole Park, owned by the National Trust.

Pressured by The Beatles record company (EMI), for a new release, manager, Brian Epstein and record producer, George Martin, decided on a double A-sided single, Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever.

The Beatles produced a promotional film clip for both "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane".

It was filmed on January 30 and 31, 1967 at Knole Park in Sevenoaks, Kent. The following week, the band shot part of the promotional film for “Penny Lane” at the same location.

The clip was directed by Peter Goldmann (left of Paul McCartney), a Swedish television director.

Goldmann was recommended to The Beatles by their mutual friend Klaus Voorman.
