This portrait was shot for the 1966 book John Lennon, an anthology of Lennon's poetry. This shot was the rear cover, and the book was designed by Alan Aldridge, who nicknamed himself 'The Man with the Kaleidoscope Eyes' from the Beatles song 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’. The original image is in colour and has been remastered in black and white by Chris Duffy.
