In Early June, 1965, it's announced that The Beatles will be awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). It was the first time that such an award was bestowed upon pop stars, usually awarded to veterans of war. The award ceremony was conducted on October 26, 1965, at Buckingham Palace.
