The Beatles, Contact Sheet, Yellow Submarine, London, 1968
ABOUT THIS PIECE
Yellow Submarine film screening and press reception at Bowater House Cinema, Knightsbridge, London - July 8th, 1968.Paul, George and Ringo posed for pictures with a Blue Meanie and a cardboard cutout of John’s cartoon character. John did not attend, which was amusing in a rebellious way. Paul seemed concerned about a group photo without John, but Ringo, in great humour was cracking jokes and George was just, George.I shot this on my Nikon, using Kodak Tri-X film, which I developed myself. I used Ilford 8x10 paper for my contact sheet. I was seventeen, a seasoned freelance of a few weeks and a Beatles fan, but serious about getting the photograph. I scanned my original contact sheet with the edit marks. It has never been seen till now.Editions are 10.
