ABOUT THIS PIECE
Michael Cooper Vintage Collection. A rare offering of vintage silver prints hand signed by Michael Cooper available for the first time.
Michael Cooper is the legendary photographer, whose close personal relationship with members of The Rolling Stones allowed him unprecedented access to the band and the opportunity to capture the first ten years of the bands career in the swinging sixties of London. He is responsible for shooting the iconic front cover photos for both the Beatles Sgt Pepper´s Lonely Hearts Club Band & Their Satanic Majesties Request by The Rolling Stones. Legendary in his own right (many speculate that his life was the inspiration for Antonioni's Blow Up), Cooper was a close friend and court photographer to the Rolling Stones from 1963 until his death in 1973. His photos of this time show a relaxed and playful side of this iconic era of rock and roll decadence. These rare silver gelatin prints were developed from the original negatives and hand signed by photographer Michael Cooper in the late 1960s before his death in 1973. Vintage prints are often considered the original piece of art, as they are made when the film is first developed. This collection has been preserved in the photographer's archive by his son, Adam Cooper who will provide a signed letter of authenticity. This exclusive offering is now available for the first time ever, only through Morrison Hotel Gallery.
