Bruce Springsteen is pictured here at the fourth iteration of Survival Sunday, an antinuclear rally held at the Hollywood Bowl in 1981. A native of New Jersey, Springsteen initially rose to stardom in the mid-1970s, becoming a veritable phenomenon in the mid-1980s, following the release of his landmark album Born in the U.S.A.
